- encouragement to myself -i'm struck with thoughts like..
am i able to succeed in life..?? am i able to trust my surrounding friends..?? am i able to believe in myself again..??
will i be able to breakthrough from my past..?? will i be able to rise above to be like the soaring eagles..?? will i be able to take control over my emotions..??
i'm unsure of the answer..
however.. this is what He said to me..
yes.. you are able to succeed in life..
Jeremiah 29:11 -- For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
there is always a future for you.. you need not worry about your future.. and whether will you be able to succeed..
yes.. you will be able to trust in your surrounding friends..
Psalm 37:4-6 -- Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
my desire is to be able to have true friends.. and able to trust in them.. so this verse taught me that.. as i commit myself to HIM.. HE will grant the desires of my heart..
yes.. i may not have confidence in myself.. but i can have confidence in HIM..
Psalm 27:13 -- I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
trusting in the LORD is always better than trusting yourself.. especially when you are having a very low self-esteem of yourself..
yes.. my breakthrough is on it's way..
Genesis 32:23-26 -- He took them, sent them over the brook, and sent over what he had. Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!”
this passage itself reminds me of Jacob.. he kept wrestling with God until the next day when he get his blessing from God.. it really taught me on how to keep persevering on.. it really taught me the lesson on perseverance.. whereby i got to keep wrestling against "my flesh" until my breakthrough come to pass..
i want to be able to come to the extend like how Jacob keep persevering on.. it won't be easy.. i know i always lose my fire.. my passion very easily.. however.. i know.. it is time for changes.. and i want to change into a brand new person.. a person that God has called me to be.. =)
yes.. i will be able to soar like eagles..
Isaiah 40:28-31 -- Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
hmmm.. they shall mount up with wings like eagles.. =) God is the strength that will help me to soar up with wings again like the eagles.. =) i will no longer need to be afraid to fall again and not pick myself up again.. =P from now on.. He will always be my strength when i'm the weakest.. =X
yes.. i will be able to take control of my emotions.. =)
1 Corinthians 7:5 -- Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
I will exercise my self-control.. so that i will not be tempted again and again by Satan.. I will not allow him to take control over my life.. rather.. I will succeed in taking control over my emotions.. =)
from now on.. this will be the way i overcome my depression.. i will not allow anything to steal away my JOY in the LORD.. in HIM.. we should be able to keep rejoicing regardless what are the circumstances..
i remember saying this phrase to a friend of mine.. to help him out in his moment of depression..
"smile at your circumstances.."
the most powerful weapon to defeat your circumstances is to smile at them.. for they are there to make you stronger and not weaker.. =) smiling at it gives the boost in your confidence and faith.. believing that you will be able to get through it.. =)
